The three pillars of our innovative approach to education:
Teaching young australians valuable skills
Improving wellbeing for people dealing with hardship
Diverting waste from landfill
Fix-ed received a 2018 Australian Good Design Award® & was selected for ‘Australia by Design’ on Channel 10.
design, Entrepreneurship & Repair Education
Australian students participate in a creative, human centred design program which sees them tackling real community issues whilst learning valuable social entrepreneurship skills through hands on running of the Fix-ed Social Enterprise.
Waste Diversion & Upcycling
Fix-ed prevents tonnes of objects from entering landfill by collecting valuable broken items from community collaborators. Participants repair/upcycle donated objects (such as mobility scooters) which form part of their response to community issues and use innovative circular economy models.
A new Lease On LIfe
The community receives direct benefits from student projects. Repaired items such as mobility scooters are leased to disability and aged care service providers, giving end users dealing with issues of hardship enhanced social connectedness and the fixed objects a new lease on life.
One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone.
